LaunchIT Youth Program: Empowering Students Across Florida to Pursue Tech Careers
IEP and 504 students can explore tech through this free training program!
Brevard County, FL – The LaunchIT Youth program, offered by Codecraft Works and BAC, is accepting enrollments for its first cohort! This free, virtual web development program is open to Florida students age 14+ with IEPs or 504 plans.
The program runs three times a year – fall, spring, and summer – offering a flexible schedule that fits into students’ busy lives. Through virtual, synchronous sessions, LaunchIT Youth fosters a collaborative and supportive learning environment where students can:
- Develop essential technical skills
- Earn industry certificates
- Engage in project-based learning
- Explore career paths
- Develop soft skills and confidence
- Connect and collaborate with peers
With Florida experiencing a surge in job opportunities in technical fields, LaunchIT Youth is poised to make a significant impact. By teaching students to think sequentially, problem-solve, and gain exposure to various IT roles, the program helps them envision a potential future career path while still in school.
The LaunchIT Youth program is an extension of the successful LaunchIT ⎋ program for adults with disabilities, now available in a new form for Florida students. Codecraft Works, an Ed-Tech company dedicated to bridging the tech talent gap through innovative, accessible training programs, is proud to continue providing training opportunities in collaboration with BAC, a premier agency providing employment and empowerment programs designed to help people with unique abilities. This groundbreaking initiative, funded by the Florida Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and provided at no cost to eligible students, aims to introduce Florida’s young people with disabilities to the exciting world of technology, providing them with essential skills, industry certificates, and the confidence to explore future careers in the tech sector.
“At Codecraft Works, we specialize in virtual synchronous training programs tailored to the needs of both industry and K-12 education,” said James Marquis, an Instructor at Codecraft Works. “LaunchIT Youth embodies our mission to make tech education accessible and engaging, inspiring the next generation of tech talent.”
According to the National Center for Learning Disabilities, students with disabilities often face barriers to participating in extracurricular activities, such as lack of accessible programs and transportation challenges. LaunchIT Youth aims to break down these barriers by providing a virtual, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where all students can thrive.
