This Fall, Codecraft Foundation and Local Partners Continue Youth Cybersecurity Training
Brevard Public Library and Northrop Grumman’s ongoing collaboration with the Codecraft Foundation continues to bring U.S. CyberPatriot training and competitions to local middle and high school students.
Cocoa, FL, August 23, 2023– Last year, Codecraft Foundation and local partners Northrop Grumman and the Brevard Public Library teamed up to host, mentor, and introduce a new group of middle school students to the high-tech possibilities available to them in cybersecurity.
The students participated in two new US CyberPatriot teams and finished very strong in last year’s competition at 2nd and 11th overall in the state of Florida Middle School Division. This is a great accomplishment for these new teams and a testament to their hard work and dedication, as well as that of the incredible community of stakeholders that made this possible.
Codecraft is looking to keep the success going this year with new and returning students in Brevard County; no experience required! Beginning on September 7, 2023, weekly student meetings will resume at the Catherine Schweinsberg Rood Central Library in Cocoa, FL. Here’s what you need to know:
- Thursdays from 6:30pm - 8pm and 1 Saturday a month for competitions
- Orientation is Thursday, August 31, 2023 @ 6:00pm
- First meeting will be Thursday, September 7, 2023 @ 6:30pm
- Must have or get a library card before or during the first meeting
- One-time $5 student registration fee
